Cool Shield Containment

The Cool Shield aisle containment system consists of hundreds of components which have evolved over the course of helping hundreds of customers get the most out of their cooling infrastructures. The unique combination of threaded and slotted sides allows for it to be configured in seemingly endless ways.  In addition, the design has allowed for great adaptability in mounting a HAC or CAC system the ceiling, strut channel, support beams, cable trays, threaded rod, concrete ceiling or just about anything.

Description

Aisle Containment Panels

Cool Shield aisle containment panel solutions provide a near complete seal to prevent the mixing of supply and exhaust air. They also offer a very clean and impressive aesthetic, especially when used with clear panels. A variety of panel options are all supported by the versatile Cool Shield channel. The channel can be used to fully frame the channel or it can be used to hang the panels for a more seamless look. In either case, a multitude of brackets, gaskets and mounting hardware allow for adapting to nearly any aisle size, obstructions or site conditions.

Panels are available to meet a wide range of budget and fire rating requirements. Light weight, clear twin-wall panels are very cost effective and are ASTM E84 Class A rated to exceed NFPA 75 guidelines. Solid polycarbonate (UL94) panels and FM Global rated panels are crystal clear to allow high visibility to cables, pipes and other equipment. Metal panels which can be powder coated nearly any color can also be used.

Aisle Containment Strips

Cool Shield aisle containment strip solutions provide the high utility of a flexible strip solution while minimizing the higher air leakage rates typically associated with strip solutions. For containment above server cabinets, the versatile Cool Shield channel is used to provide attachment points for overlapping strips at both the top and bottom of the containment zone. Re-sealable fasteners can be used at the bottom to provide access to cabling, pipes or other equipment. Flexible strip doors for the aisle entry way feature a wider overlap and can be outfitted with weights to prevent separation. Containment strip walls can attach to a floor support to keep them as taut as possible.
The Cool Shield strips are rated ASTM E84 Class A to exceed the requirements of NFPA 75 data center standards.

Aisle Containment Doors

The Cool Shield aisle containment sliding and hinged door solutions are handsome and resilient alternatives for closing the aisle entry to your hot or cold aisle. Door frames are constructed of tubular steel for maximum strength and durability. Frames are powder coated to match the color of the server cabinets. Each door features a generous clear insert to provide light and visibility into the aisle. Standard inserts are UL94 rated but inserts are also available in FM Global and ASTM E84 ratings. Headers and side extensions can adapt our standard door sizes to function with nearly any aisle size.
Both our hinged and sliding doors are self-closing to prevent air leakage from accidently leaving door open. Sliding doors will hold in place in the fully open position to allow bringing equipment into the aisle. Brushes and gaskets fill any gaps in and around the door. The aisle containment doors integrate with our all of our upper containment solutions to create a highly sealed hot or cold aisle

Containment Ceiling Panels

Containment Ceiling Panels are an excellent solution for cold aisle containment (CAC), especially if there are high ceilings and/or over cabinet obstructions. The panels span across the tops of the cabinets to isolate the supply air in the cold aisle allowing for high efficiency cooling. The challenge with ceiling panels is obstructing the fire suppression release. Cool Shield features several solutions for accommodating this including melt away panels, fusible links and electromagnetic releases. All of our lightweight panels are clear for high light transmission and feature the highest fire ratings in the industry.
